So weekly, maybe once maybe more i will be posting “Wierd State Laws” and hopefully finding the explination of the law being passed. If anyone has heard one that they would like to hear the explination about let me know and i will look too!
In Austin Texas it is against the law to carry a wire cutters in your back pocket.
Explination:
In the days of the old “wild west”, cowboys would cut barbed wire fences of property owners in order to allow their cattle herds to pass through. To prevent such acts, an ordinance was passed.
Updated Texas Penal code shows that this law was removed as of 1973. I hope the property owners in Austin know that their lands have been fertilized by walking dung droppers for 35 years now!
