Here is an update from her online Journal. I am going out to see her with my daughter, mother and sister on thursday I hope.
I apologize that there haven’t been many updates recently. There really isn’t too much happening right now.
This week Tarz is turkey hunting down in southern Minnesota so I, Amber, am staying here with mom.
The days are pretty uneventful. She is still sleeping a lot. She had a total of four rounds of three days of chemo since January so her body is pretty wiped out. She is tired. Today she told me she is tired and weary. When I asked her what the difference was she said that weary means listless.
It is still very hard to see her like this. She very seldom asks for anything and does anything even less.
Most days she sits in her chair, lays on the couch or in bed for most of the day.
She generally does get dressed, but there are many days when she stays in her p.j’s.
She still doesn’t know what day, month or year it is. I told her today that April was more than half over, and she looked at me in disbelief. A little later in the evening she told me she should start working on her dish towels for Christmas. When I reminded her that it was April, she told me it had to at least be October. I told her I would go up and get the towels for her to embroider and she said no, I don’t feel like sewing.
The stories she tells can still be a little out there and very dream like. Most of the time they have some basis in reality, but not real.
We are taking her to a neurologist next week in Maple Grove. The physicians at the U think that this could be seizures, so we will get it checked out.
She is having a PET scan on Friday of this week and an MRI on Monday of next week. Tuesday she will see the neurologist and on Wednesday she goes back for the scans to be read at the U. We will know more then about what is up with the stages of the tumors as well as the brain. We know there is damage, but not to what extent.
The tulips are coming up in the garden and tomorrow I am going to take all of the plants that she has received as gifts and plant them in the buckets on the back porch. I am hoping she will sit out there with me a bit and maybe put her hands in the soil…I know that has always been one of her favorite things to do.
As always, thank you to everyone that has stopped by to say hello. I know that Tarz especially appreciates the company. He has been so amazing through all of this.
He loves her so much and she is blessed to have him.
Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and prayers!
